And now for something a little different than weddings or engagements ….. DOGS!!
I love dogs. Â I wish I could live on a farm and have a whole herd of them. Â My first dog was a Rat Terrier named Molly (after Molly Ringwald because my favorite movie at the time was Sixteen Candles!). Â I had Molly for a little over 8 years before she passed away suddenly. Â Molly crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 11, 2011. Â She had a shunt growing off of her liver, which was affecting her neurologically. Â When she became extremely jaundiced, I took her to the emergency vet. Â That day, she died in my arms. Â I think about her all the time, and I miss her so much.
Here is me with my Molly…. minutes before she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Â She was such a good girl…..

And then there was PEGGY. Â I found Peggy in the Post-Gazette for $50 bucks. Â It was one of the best investments I’ve ever made. Â Here she is as a puppy.
One of my favorite authors is David Sedaris. Â He wrote a few poems about dogs. Â Here are some of my favorites:
Pepper, Spot, and Leopold
Were sent by God, so I’ve been told,
In hopes we might all comprehend
That every dog is man’s best friend.

Kimmy, once considered ruthless,
Lies in her basket, bald and toothless.
Her youth’s long spent, so now she passes
All her time releasing gases.
*********
Most ev’ry evening Goldilocks
Snacks from Kitty’s litter box.
Then, on command, she gives her missus
Lots of little doggie kisses.
*********
I can’t help it. Â She is really cute. Â And she is extremely well behaved…..except when the doorbell rings. Â Then she is the WORST dog on the planet.

Awesome dog details…..

And here is Peggy with my kiddos. Â Just in case you were wondering, I love my dog very much, but my children and my husband are my WORLD. Â As much as I’d LOVE to share all the photos I have of the kids, I believe that their faces shouldn’t be plastered all over the internets for the world to see. Â Some things (at least to me) are sacred 🙂
