OUTDOOR CEREMONIES AT HEINZ HALL

Are you thinking of having your wedding ceremony outdoors in Pittsburgh? Â Late summer is a great time to have a garden wedding at Heinz Hall in downtown Pittsburgh!

My friends from the Freya String Quartet provided the lovely prelude and ceremony music for this wedding:

The minister was amplified, and they also turned off the waterfall for the ceremony. Â The street noise really wasn’t a problem!

I asked the nice staff at Heinz Hall to turn on the falls for photos. Â It made for beautiful bridal and family portraits after the ceremony!

BEST OF 2013: GROOMS WAITING FOR THEIR BRIDES

We can’t forget the grooms! Â While everyone is watching the bride walk down the aisle, I am too. Â But after I get the shot of the bride walking with her father, I turn to look at the groom to see the happiness on his face (and sometimes, the tears in his eyes!).

WEDDINGS AT THE GRAND BALLROOM IN BUTLER

The Grand Ballroom at Cornerstone Commons in Butler is the perfect place to have your wedding reception! Â Look how beautifully decorated the ballroom is….

The table arrangements had a wonderful texture and great dimension to them! Â I love the green cabbage! Â Totally unique!

A beautifully designed wedding cake, which perfectly matched this bride’s decor….

The head table where the bride, groom, and wedding party sit is placed against the windows….

Orange roses and greenery sat on top of gold candelabras with green amaranthusÂ hangingÂ elegantly….

We had the chance to visit and photograph some very beautiful wedding reception rooms this year.

I *love* chair covers and bows! Â They just finish the look of the table so well. Â And….chiavari chairs are my FAVORITE! Â I rented silver and white ones for my wedding…one of my “must-haves.”

BEST OF 2013: SHOES

Choosing the perfect bridal shoes for your wedding day is not an easy task! Â There are so many choices!! Â Sparkly, glittery, satin, blue, hot pink, purple….your choices are endless!

I have many favorite colors, but purple and green are at the top of my list. Â If I had to choose, my shoes would be sparkly. Â And blingy….with glitter on top. Â And they’d have to be stilettos. haha!

PERSONAL: BEING OUR AWESOME SELVES

I’ll say it right here, right now – I wouldn’t be a wedding photographer if there wasn’t FUN involved. Â Yes, there are priorities of course, but there are those rare down moments when we photographers take a breath and find the rare opportunity to capture each other in, shall we say, “unique” situations. Â These are the best of those moments….

Like the time when I found theÂ perfectly sized martini glass…

…Or when I was about to scream out of frustration due to people walking into my shot.
