NEW HAZLETT THEATER WEDDING PHOTOS

When Rachael asked me to photograph her wedding, I was ecstatic!! Not only was she my friend, but she was marrying a wonderful man named Ross (insert Friends joke here), and I had a front row seat for the main event!!! Â Ross and Rachael are both musicians, so it was fitting that they had their wedding ceremony and reception inside a theater here in Pittsburgh…..and what a party it was…..

Ross and Rachael decided to do a “first look” in order to maximize the time they allowed for photos. Â This makes me very happy. Â 🙂 Â I found a private area in the Westin Convention Center Hotel (where they got ready) for them, and it worked out great…

Their families were waiting for them in the lobby….

We started off the day by doing photos at the Convention Center…

The lighting on the water feature underneath the Convention Center was constantly changing colors, so I waited for purple and snapped away!

Ross and Rachael requested that we do photos on one of the many yellow bridges we have here in Pittsburgh…

The New Hazlett Theater is a very unique and versatile venue….and Maria Scheller is FANTASTIC to work with!

The ceremony was hands down one of the most meaningful and beautiful ones I’ve ever witnessed, thanks to their awesome officiant, Craig.

Purple and teal details were everywhere!

I love you, Rachael and Ross. Â Thank you for having me at the most meaningful day of your lives (so far!). Â When you have your first baby, I’ll come over to visitÂ and watch it have projectile explosive diarrheaÂ on you (just like when you watched my daughter do it to me 10 years ago). Â And I’ll laugh. Â Yes, I just used the term “projectile explosiveÂ diarrhea” on a wedding blog. Â Don’t worry….no one reads anything I write at the bottom of blog posts. Poop. Doody. Poopyhead.

GRAND HALL AT THE PRIORY WEDDING PHOTOS

During the week of Nora and Graham’s wedding, we were experiencing a lot of rain. Â Our prayers were answered when the clouds disappeared, and the sun shined down on their wedding day! Â Nora and Graham had an absolutely lovely wedding ceremony and reception at the Grand Hall at the Priory on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Â Here are some of my favorite moments from their day…

Such a gorgeous set-up …Â Both the ceremony and reception were atÂ the Priory. Â Nora chose to do pretty pink up-lighting as a backdrop for the ceremony…

Nora and her bridesmaids got dressed across the street in the townhouse…

Love this moment….Graham walked his beautiful (and tall!) grandmother down the aisle to her seat…

My friends from Three Rivers String Quartet provided the ceremony music! Â Can I say that it was PERFECT?! Â Violinist Christina Crivelli runs a fantastic group!

I have no idea what was so funny, but Nora has the best laughing face!

PITTSBURGH CENTER FOR THE ARTS WEDDING

I think it is safe to say that Sarah and Jedd are my spirit animals. Â The energy these two emitted over the course of their wedding day could light up a city. Â It was a privilegeÂ to be a fly on the wall at thisÂ wedding. Â It was difficult to narrow it down, but here are a few of my favorite moments from their day…

This is Nico. Â She does not like to be called a “weiner dog”. Â Nico prefers “dachshund,” and she is a professional beggar.

Sarah wore the same wedding gown that her mother, grandmother, and great aunt wore at their weddings.

Jedd receives an award for the most eclectic group of groomsmen/women.

This is the first wedding I’ve ever shot that included a WWII veteran in the wedding party!Â Marty was SO MUCH FUN.

Sarah and Jedd have NO problem being themselves. Â I think that’s why I love them so much.

The festivities begin…

Sarah’s flower girls used confetti canons, slingshots, and streamers as they walked down the aisle!

I just about died laughing when Jedd’s mom and dad did this…

Sarah and Jedd weren’t too keen on dancing alone in front of everyone at their reception, so instead of a first dance, they decided to do “First Karaoke!” Â As they sang songs (which wereÂ hand picked), the lyrics were projected on the tent ceiling with family photos as a backdrop. Â It was SO unique and fun!

Thank you Sarah and Jedd for having me at your crazy, awesome wedding!!! It is one I will not soon forget!

HILTON SOUTHPOINTE WEDDING RECEPTION PHOTOS

It was a gorgeous sunny day here in Pittsburgh for Nicole and Will’s wedding at St. Louise de Marillac! Â Their sparkly and colorful reception was at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe, which sits on top of a hill. Â It was theÂ perfect backdropÂ for sunset photos!

Nicole was SO much fun to photograph!

St. Louise de Marillac is such a unique, beautiful church here in Pittsburgh…

Nicole sang Ave Maria (this version)Â as she and her new husband, Will, paid their respects to the Blessed Mother. Â It was a gorgeous, memorable moment. Â (Nicole is an extremely talented singer! Â We met when she was in grad school at Carnegie Mellon, pursuing her Masters in Vocal Performance!)

After the ceremony, we did all of their photos in the outdoor garden/patio at the Hilton…

Nicole and Will’s reception was beautifully decorated! Â The magenta flowers inside the candle holders was perfect for a candlelit reception atmosphere…

Their rings glittered beautifully as well….

Nicole composed and recorded the song for their first dance as husband and wife! Â Romantic much?! YEP!

ARMSTRONG FARMS WEDDING

What a beautiful spring wedding Courtney and Zach had! Â These photos of their wedding wereÂ taken at the Fieldstone Barn at Armstrong Farms in Saxonburg, PA.

I started off the day with Courtney and her bridesmaids at her mother’s house…

When the girls walked outside into the yard for photos, the horses next door immediately ran to the fence to get a closer look at them! Â So cute!

My second shooter, Christina, was with Zach and the guys as they “got ready” before the ceremony….. haha!

Fieldstone Barn at Armstrong Farm is beautifully rustic, and a picturesque wedding venue here in Pittsburgh….

(I had to include the cow in the blog post somehow, right?! Â They were hanging out just beyond the space where the ceremony was held.)

There was an abundance of beautiful details at this wedding…..here are a few:

MARRIED!!!

As Zach and Courtney cut their cake, the guys of course wanted him to smash it in her face!

SHANNOPIN COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING

Shannopin Country Club is a beautiful location for your wedding reception. Â This wedding took place in late September…you can see the leaves are still on the trees, but are starting to turn red and orange…

The fairways are gorgeous and green….a great backdrop for wedding photos..

Back porch (where cocktail hour took place), which overlooked the fairways…

To keep guests entertained, the bride and groom had a giant game of Jenga set up on the grass!

Reception area, right when you walk in…

This room was used for storing extra wedding cookies, cake and anything else the bridal party wanted hidden away..

HEINZ FIELD WEDDING RECEPTION

Nothing says “I love Pittsburgh (and the Steelers!) more than having your wedding at Heinz Field!

The wall of windows, which spans both the East and West Club Lounges, overlooks downtown Pittsburgh (perfect for out of town guests!).

Blue hydrangeas, hot pink gerber daisies and gold Chiavari chairs come together to complete a fresh, summer look!

This wedding ceremony was held in the East Club Lounge…

The lighting that came in through the wall of windows was beautiful…

Even though it rained this day, we still made it out on the field for some fun wedding party photos…

Gotta have a Terrible Towel at a Heinz Field wedding!

We visited the locker room for additional bridal portraits. Â So cool!

What a way to show off our great city. Â Look how gorgeous this room is…

CHARTIERS COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING

Chartiers Country Club provides a beautiful backdrop for your wedding reception. Â I think it is impossible to take a bad photo here!

I adore the way the main ballroom is set up with Tiffany blue chair sashes on the white chair covers.

The hint of pink roses among the white hydrangeas is a lovely and subtle splash of warm color for these centerpieces.

NEMACOLIN WOODLANDS FALL WEDDING

Fall weddings at Nemacolin Woodlands are so colorful. Â I grew up going to Nemacolin with my family, and it is still as beautiful as it ever was.

The horses, who pulled the carriage were adorable, so of course I had to take a few shots of them…

Maureen and Tim wanted to include as much fall color in their photos as possible. Â There was beautiful foliage everywhere (it was the middle of October), so this wasn’t a problem…
