2017 BEHIND THE SCENES

2017 YEAR IN REVIEW

What a year!!! As each year goes by I realize more and more how fortunate I am to have such a fantastic job.

Here is a teeny tiny glimpse into how much fun we have at work…

I love meeting the families of my clients and getting to know them!

I apparently never close my mouth…

Love looking for great spots for gorgeous portraits…

I’m sure Jason loves when I stand on stage with them and try to look as cool as they do.  You can see Gary giving me the “what the heck are you doing?!” eye…

Sometimes it’s fun to blend in…

….and in case you needed it for your collection, here is a photo of my uvula….

I LOVE Emily’s flowers!! Botanical Emporium is responsible for this masterpiece…

Running into future clients, past clients, random guests who request a photo, and old friends is the best….

Ya’ll remember Drea and her husband Kevin, right?

Emily and Chad’s doggy was their ring bearer!!! Look how cuuuuute!…

Since all of my grandparents have passed away, it’s always fun to talk to my couples’ grandmas and grandpas.  This is the greatest grandma ever (Dan’s grandma!)…

Being a wedding photographer isn’t as glamorous as you think it is.  I have to carry 65lbs of equipment every weekend (I weighed it at the Carnegie Science Center)…

….It’s also very important to help keep your couple on track with their timeline….

….or help put bouquets back together….

….or fix bridal hair….

A lot of my time is spent pretending to cut wedding cakes, or giving directions to my couples on how to do it themselves…

There are many times I’m asked to help my brides get dressed!!

I LOVE KATIE!!!!…

I have no idea what I’m saying to Nathan at this point in time…

Chad stares in awe at my amazing ability to pack a trunk…HAHA….or maybe he’s just yawning?

“Hey Christina! Take a picture of me pretending to punch Frank!” HAHAHA There was a reason for this, I just can’t remember what it was now. HAHA

Staying HOT by the fire.  Get it?

Carly had no idea I was making a face at her.

Me, when I realized I forgot to put money in the meter.

As I was trying to relax with Rachel’s giant bear, Theo comes in and wants a kiss!!

I LOVE FRAGRANT FLOWERS!!!

In addition to disliking me, Gary is the drummer with the always awesome Jason Kendall Band!

I can ALWAYS count on my second shooters to capture beautiful photos of me…

….and in turn, I ALWAYS capture beautiful photos of them!!!….This is Pamela.  You all can call her Pammy.  She loves it when people call her Pammy.

….And this is Christina! We saw a lot of each other this year!…

…This is my buddy, Dennis.  He is an awesome photographer from Cleveland….

…and I worked a lot with Aaron.  He LOVES to have his photo taken, so I make sure to do it all the time.

And  here is the lady who loves my butt so much, she has to photograph it at least 20 times per wedding.  Susan!!!….

These are other wonderful people I’ve worked with as well last year….Michelle, Jessica, Ashley, Carolyn, Manny, Marnie, and Kristen!!

Eric, Jeremy, and my string quartet friends over at Chamber Light Players of Pittsburgh (the BEST!)!

I can’t forget one more flattering photo of me!!  Beautiful, no?

Thank you to all my WONDERFUL clients for such an amazing 2017!!!

SARAH & RYAN ARE MARRIED!!!

Omni William Penn Hotel Wedding Photos

Sarah and Ryan had a beautiful day for their Duquesne University Chapel wedding and their reception in the Urban Room at the Omni William Penn!

Sarah’s gold, pink, and blush details were beautiful…

Sarah’s Justin Alexander dress was INCREDIBLE.

Sarah and Ryan are pretty much awesome….

The colors and details at their reception were gorgeous…pink, blush, white, and gold….

Thank you, Sarah and Ryan for allowing me to capture your day!! It was an honor!!

EMILY & CHAD ARE MARRIED!!!

WEDDING RECEPTIONS AT HEINZ HISTORY CENTER

Emily and Chad had both their wedding ceremony and reception at the Heinz History Center.  The History Center is a fantastic place to have your wedding photos taken!  There are SO MANY photo-ops!  I started off the day with Emily and her bridesmaids as they were getting ready…

Emily did a first look with her bridesmaids after she was finished getting ready…

The guys hung out at the History Center, and got dressed there.

Chad and Emily wanted to have all of their photos done before the ceremony, so they could go straight to the cocktail hour and reception.  So, we did a first look inside the History Center!

Since it was raining outside, we did all of the bridesmaids’ photos inside!

While I was doing that with the girls, my second shooter was having fun with the guys…

I got a photo with the bride and groom! HAHA!

Gizmo was the ring bearer!

Instead of table numbers, Emily had photos of Pittsburgh landmarks on her tables!

…and instead of a cookie table, there was a huge cake table!!!

One of Emily’s special photo requests was to have photos of her with her dad enjoying a beverage at the bar after their father daughter dance together.

One of the best moments was the Hora….

I love you, Emily and Chad!!  Thank you for having me photograph your wedding!!

AMANDA & BEN ARE ENGAGED!!!

Mellon Park Spring Engagement Session

Amanda and Ben came up from Georgia for their engagement session!  They wanted a mixture of nature and urban, so we started at Mellon Park in Shadyside…

The flowers are gorgeous in the spring, summer, and early fall in Mellon Park…

We decided to head downtown for some early evening photos with downtown Pittsburgh as a beautiful backdrop…

It started raining right after we made the next image!

CAITY & MIKE ARE ENGAGED!!!

Intimate Downtown Pittsburgh Apartment Engagement Session

Caity and Mike decided to do something different with their engagement session.  They have a beautiful apartment downtown with a lot of natural light, and thought it would be a great setting for their engagement session.  And they were right!!

Most of the photos are candid, but we had time to fit in some portraits as well!

MEGHAN AND TOMAS ARE ENGAGED!

Lawrenceville Urban Engagement Session

Lawrenceville is an amazing place for an engagement session!  It is Meghan and Tomas’s neighborhood, so we decided to hang out there for the photos!

We found this amazing wall with graffiti on it and used it as a backdrop. Winning!

CARNEGIE MELLON ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Rainy Day Engagement Session at Carnegie Mellon University

Rachel and Kevin met at Carnegie Mellon University when they were doing their Masters degrees.  They have since moved away from Pittsburgh, but came back to do their engagement session!

Rachel and Kevin were coming from California for their session, so we only had one day to do the shoot, and it rained!  BUT….we made the best of it.  Look at the fantastic photos we created!…

You can see the rain in the photo on the right!  They didn’t care at all!

We did get a little wet because the rain had no mercy on us!

We decided to travel downtown to the Convention Center to finish up their engagement session…

…and we of course needed to get some photos with a yellow bridge!
